West Sixth Street is located just a few blocks away from Congress. It typically has a little more older 30 something and up business professional crown. There are a handful of bars all located just East of Whole Foods and Lamar on 6th Street. There are also some very cool bars just a few blocks away on the other side of Lamar, and a few just a few blocks North. One of the popular pedi-cab routes is to shuffle bar patrons from West 6th back the Dirty 6th and Rainey St.

We have included just about everything in downtown West of Congress on this page, including maybe my favorite restaurant in all of Austin. Lamberts BBQ. It can be tough to get a reservation, but many times you can walk in a get seat at the bar. They also have an outstanding Happy Hour menu.
