Just north of Austin, the Round Rock Express bring professional baseball to Central Texas at Dell Diamond. The Express are the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, giving fans an opportunity to watch experienced minor leaguers and potential future major-league players in a relaxed ballpark setting.
The Team’s History
The Round Rock Express began playing in 2000 as a Double-A team and moved to Triple-A in 2005. The franchise has been affiliated with both the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers over the years. The current Rangers affiliation began in 2021 under a long-term player-development agreement.
The team takes its name from Nolan Ryan, the Hall of Fame pitcher nicknamed the Ryan Express. Baseball has become a familiar part of summer entertainment in Round Rock and the surrounding Austin area.
Visiting Dell Diamond
Dell Diamond is located at 3400 East Palm Valley Boulevard in Round Rock. Its baseball-focused design makes it a favorite for families, groups and fans who enjoy a smaller stadium than a major-league park. Fans can choose among reserved seats, hospitality areas and more casual viewing options, depending on the game.
Plan a little extra time for parking and entry, especially on popular promotion nights. Check the ballpark’s policies for bags, outside food and ticket scanning before traveling.
Fireworks, Giveaways and Theme Nights
The Express regularly organize fireworks, giveaways, themed promotions, and special family events. The team’s 2026 calendar included Friday fireworks, drone shows and Bark in the Park events. Promotions change from season to season, so always confirm the game-specific details.
Baseball games are an easy choice for visiting relatives, birthday celebrations and anyone looking for a Central Texas sporting event without the crowds of a major college football game.
Tickets and Baseball Season
The Triple-A schedule generally runs from spring into September. Tickets are available individually, through game packages and for group outings. As with most minor-league teams, the roster changes during the season when players are promoted, reassigned or rehabbing.
