University of Texas Longhorns Sports: Teams, Stadiums and Tickets

The University of Texas Longhorns are one of Austin’s most recognizable sports institutions. From fall football Saturdays to baseball, basketball, volleyball and championship-caliber Olympic sports, UT offers an almost year-round calendar for sports fans.

The Longhorns entered the Southeastern Conference in 2024, creating new conference rivalries while preserving some of college sports’ longstanding traditions.

Texas Longhorns Football

Football home games take place at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium on the UT campus. The stadium is one of the most prominent landmarks in Austin, and game days transform the surrounding streets, restaurants and campus spaces into a sea of burnt orange.

For major matchups, book tickets and lodging early. Visitors should review the university’s current parking and shuttle information and expect heavy traffic around campus.

Basketball at Moody Center

The men’s and women’s basketball teams play at Moody Center, a modern multipurpose arena near campus. College basketball offers a different atmosphere from football, with closer views of the court and a busy schedule of home games during the winter. Moody Center also hosts concerts and other entertainment.

Baseball, Softball and Volleyball

Texas baseball plays at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, and softball plays at Red & Charline McCombs Field. Both sports are popular during the spring and provide a comparatively intimate game-day experience. Volleyball plays at Gregory Gymnasium, where the crowd is close to the action and the program has established a strong national reputation.

Other Longhorns Sports

UT fields men’s and women’s tennis, golf, swimming and diving, track and field, cross country, and additional varsity programs including rowing, soccer and beach volleyball. The Texas Tennis Center hosts college tennis, and Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field hosts track and field and women’s soccer.

Many sports outside football and men’s basketball have affordable admission; some regular-season events may be free. Always check the event listing for the current policy rather than assuming a game is free.

Planning a Visit

Check the official Texas Longhorns composite schedule to browse home games by sport. The university’s athletics website also includes ticket information, venue policies and team rosters. If you are coming from out of town, allow extra time for downtown traffic and campus construction.
